Criteria for consideration

1. Poverty, Trauma, Illiteracy and Community Empowerment

By showing that they recognise the challenges people in their community are facing in their lives relate to poverty, trauma, illiteracy and community empowerment as well as; how their organizational work will respond to these challenges and support the community.

This will be one of the most important considerations to us for resource mobilization & funding as it will influence the level of development resources we able offer depending on donor agency fundraising of those activities.

In addition, we are interested in organizations that can demonstrate how their work touches these challenge areas.

2. Community

By showing how they engage their community in the organization, for example; on the Board of Directors, CEO & Founder or through volunteering and that they listen to their community and respond to their needs.

3.Collaboration

By showing that they are aware of other groups and services in their area and are linked with them.

4. Partner Relationship

By showing that their work clearly has a relational field of interest and focus and that this is reflected in their policies and their governance: for example; how involve members or participants and that they apply a right-based approach in their work i.e. that they treat people with fairness, dignity and respect.

5. Being Proportionate

We don't expect every development project to be able to demonstrate all these characteristics and qualities. However, where our levels of resource fundraising from donor agencies, organizations, well-wishers and individual supporters will determine our field of interest and focus in the extent to which these four areas converge.

While we take a number of different factors into consideration, we may require you to demonstrate a greater combination of them in order to potentially get support to develop.
